Artist Statement and Resume

KITTY MOLLMAN

ARTISTS STATEMENT

After spending most of my artistic life as a potter, I have recently discovered fused glass as a medium which I find even more satisfying than ceramics. Since 2003, when I first saw some very well done fused glass pieces at an art fair, I have been intrigued with the endless possibilities offered by glass. Beginning with a class at Craft Alliance, I have continued to explore and expand my work with fusing beautiful Bullseye glass into intricate patterns, and now I am learning to cast work in a kiln to further expand my horizons. The color and shape combinations are literally infinite. It is also my pleasure to introduce Craft Alliance students to the wonderful world of glass fusing.

My ceramic work is now limited to tables, mirror frames and trivets made from raku fired tiles, which I continue to enjoy very much because I use materials found in my beloved garden for the content.  I am also continuing my line of horsehair pots which are for sale at Craft Alliance.
